Ingredients not being used from inventory or fridge

I'm not sure if this is a bug or if I am missing something.

I began gardening and harvesting fresh produce. When I click the fridge or stove to make a meal, the possible ingredients list is satisfied (such as 1 tomato), but the tomato is not used from my inventory or from the fridge (I've tried both).

I.e. I'll have 10 tomatoes, make a meal that requires 1 tomato, and still have 10 tomatoes after preparation in my inventory or fridge.

I have noticed this on 2 separate games I've created.

  • I ended up repairing the game through Origin to fix the cooking problem others had been having.

This seemed to fix the bug.

  • Yes I do. I have unchecked and rechecked it a few times to try to make it work.

Are you using any mods in your game and is this something new or did it always happen that way ?

  • No mods.

I just recently started a new game to fix the disappearing sims in my last game. I did not keep track of ingredients in my last game.

As of right now, this is a new issue.

But you didn't have the other cooking bug at all ?

    Wonder if they are connected.

  • Have same problem when Sims are trying to cook autonomously. Wish this was fixed
