Keep getting the exact same sim as criminal as the detective

So for every single case I've done as a detective the clues are ALWAYS the same, the suspect ALWAYS the same, and I arrest him and it's him. The crime scene changed once but has been the same 3 times...

That is rather strange.

Do you always go to work with your Sim everday ? Always playing the same family ? Try skipping a day (sending him on his own after finishing a case) and see if that resets the suspect.
