Last UI Exception: PackIconCellView

How often does the bug occur? Most of the time, about 75%.

What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? 

Expansion Packs: Get to Work, Cats & Dogs, City Living, Discover University, Get Together, Island Living, Seasons.

Game Packs: Dine Out, Jungle Adventure, Outdoor Retreat, Parenthood, Vampires

Stuff Packs: Cool Kitchen Stuff, Laundry Day Stuff, Luxury Party Stuff, Moschino Stuff Pack, Movie Hangout, Nifty Knitting, Paranormal, Romantic Garden, Toddler Stuff, Vintage Glamour

Other: Holiday Celebration Pack

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? After playing the game, check the game folder. There is usually a Last UI Exception in there.
What happens when the bug occurs? A Last UI Exception is generated in the game folder.
What do you expect to see? I expect to be able to play my unmodded game without a Last UI Exception being generated. I have not been able to play the game without it happening.

Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? No; I removed them prior to reinstalling my game.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? No, but it has continued to occur even after:

1) reinstalling the game in its entirety,

2) deleting the game cache and Origin cache

3) after attempting a factory reset of the Sims 4

4) repairing the game in Origin

@crinrict and @EA_Illium Also, when I tried resending the bug report after clearing my web browser cache, I was attaching the Last UI Exception text file and also a screenshot.

The screenshot shows The Sims 4 is installed, and for some reason the Paranormal Stuff Pack is listed separately on my computer, even though I installed my game packs all through Origin at the same time. I don't know if this separate listing is part of the issue or not? I'm attaching it here in case it didn't go through when I resubmitted the bug report.

@AalyahReed It's probably the attached LE file. You can't attach XML files so you need to edit a bit to upload.

This ways works too though so I moved this to the bug forum and filled in the form for you.

I believe I initially posted about this issue in April. It is now September and it has continued occurring again. I believe the bug report was kindly filed in May by @crinrict when I was having issues filing it so I am posting again here to say that it is still occurring. 

It is my understanding that a Last UI Exception should not be occurring in an unmodded game.

I have deleted cache files and tried repairing my game.

Oh no, unmodded game have too LastUiException and LastException. If I play the game with my doctor, I have now minimum 1 LE. If I play my game with my juice crafter, I have many LUE in my vanilla game. LE and LUE are logs the help to track an error and helpful to fix it. But a log self is not much info, most the time the team need more info to track LE and LUE. (How the steps are to reproduce the error.)

LE und LUE are most the time harmless and don’t break your game and is always good to report this, specialy if you play vanilla.

@daikoyu It's interesting to hear that you are also having Last UI Exceptions in a vanilla game. I've been worried that if I continue to play the game as-is, that the Last UI Exception will lead to a corrupt save file. I couldn't find a solution online as to what may be causing it, so I hope you are right that it is just to track an error and I shouldn't be too worried about it.

It's strange that these errors are occurring in vanilla games.

Update on October 24th, 2021:

I've sought help for this on two discords, as well as Answers HQ, and I have now also posted on the Sims 4 forum because I have yet to pinpoint the cause. I am playing an unmodded, vanilla game but am still receiving a Last UI Exception. To my knowledge, an unmodded game should not be causing Last UI exceptions. The nice folks at the discord said my Last UI exception is typically caused by a gallery feed error or mods, but I have no gallery notifications to clear (I regularly delete them) and as I mentioned, no mods. I have tried deleting cache files as well as repairing the game.

If anyone had any idea what could be causing the issue, I would appreciate feedback.

I'm concerned that continuing to play the game without fixing the source of the issue will lead to a corrupt save file.

Update 1/3/2022:

It is now January 2022, and I am still afraid to play my game due to the recurring Last UI Exception error. I don't want to put a lot of work into a save file only to discover it is corrupted because of the Last UI Exception. Yes, I have backups, but I am afraid to put further time and effort into a save if it is having an issue.

I have continued receiving the Last UI Exception with Cottage Living.

I have no mods.

I have tried deleting cache files and repairing the game.

As mentioned before, I previously had an issue with Last UI exceptions even with no mods, but that was temporarily fixed after deleting my notifications in the upper-right hand corner of the game (this was suggested to me on a Sims 4 Discord). I was regularly deleting notifications to prevent that Last UI exception from happening, but now I have the Last UI Exception again.

I must admit that I am very frustrated with this happening. I don't understand why I am getting a Last UI exception, because according to what I have read online, those are typically caused by mods, and I have none. I appreciate the support of volunteers and SimGurus on the forum who try to help. Like many players, I have invested a lot of time and money in this game, so it is frustrating when it doesn't work.

Does anyone know what may be causing this Last UI exception? And if not, do you have any idea of things I could do to troubleshoot (other than the things I have attempted above) to fix the game?

Hi @crinrict - I am still in the process of setting up my game worlds to my preference, but I haven't noticed anything, I just see the Last Exception UI after I log out of the game and go into the game folder.

Hi @crinrict - So even if it is the same Last UI Exception occurring over and over again, most times that I play the game, it is a possibility that it is nothing to worry about?

I will operate under the assumption that it is fine, and just an error with the EA code, since I have reinstalled and repaired multiple times, and currently have no mods, But I will follow your advice and continue to keep frequent backups, just in case.
