@crinrictI have this with regular human sims as well, but I need to test more. So far, a brand new save made from 11/8/2024 onward where a human sim that lives in the neighborhood has no issue but previous saves made before that date that don't live in the neighborhood and have to get there by traveling do have the issue, regardless of human or vampire or spellcaster or whatever.
I tested my two spellcaster who both don't live in the same world and one had issues, the other didn't.
Did you move the ones that worked in one hood to the other to see if they work there ?

@crinrictNot yet but I tried another previous save with no mods and was able to complete the interaction via traveling and then I noticed something...is one of your spellcasters female? Because the interactions that succeed for me are done with male sims and the ones that fail are done with female sims. I'm about to test a new save now with a male and a female sim and see what happens.
And the test results are:
1. Both male and female sims (who are carbon copies of each other minus gender) can route to the interaction in a new unmodded game (have not tested with mods) when living in the neighborhood.
2. When moving to another place and traveling, both can route to the tree.
3. The sims I was having trouble with both have Grim in their relationship panel and that is the only similarity I can think of.
4. I have a household in a previous save I just tested again where both are female, but one has Grim in her relationships and the other doesn't. The one that DOESN'T can route to the interaction.
5. Introducing the second sim to the Grim Reaper did not eliminate her ability to route to the interaction.
So my theories have been disproven - it's not gender, it's not where they live, it's not whether they know Grim or not.
The two sims that cannot route:
1. Both female. Both Young Adult. Both know Grim. Neither live in that neighborhood. Traits for one: A human, employed in the writer career, Gloomy, Loner, Cat Lover, Loves Outdoors, Romantic, Foodie. Aspiration is Renaissance sim, with Quick Learner, no reward traits, haven't completed the first level of the aspiration. Lives in Henford. Traits for the other: A vampire, employed in the Reaper Career, has Master Vampire aspiration, has completed at least 1 level, Dastardly bonus trait. Traits are Self Absorbed, Macabre, Cringe, Nosy, Perfectionist, Active, Observant reward trait. BOTH sims have acquired all 3 self discovery traits.
I know you said you don't have time to test anymore but do you think you could pop in your game and tell me any differences between your sims? All you'd have to do is look at their info, not travel anywhere. My new theory is that it may have something to do with the self discovery system from Growing Together - every sim that is able to route to the interaction doesn't have any self discovery traits at all.

@CCuteCCabaret I would need to check if my Sim has a relationship to Grim as I haven't played that save in ages. Everything newer than ROM doesn't apply to neither of my spellcasters.
It is a female spellcaster that has issue. The male one is fine. Both have not-active familiars and both always use broom (although I turned that off to test, didn't make a difference)
I don't have issues with my other female (or the ones I tested during early access that were in the Grim Reaper career) that is in the career.
Would need to check on traits
