Thanks for letting us know what could help, I'll try it now. I even tried a rebirth, but it didn't work - CAS would not load and the sim becomes a random infant without any family.
And yes, I think you're right. The first time I contacted Edith, I was with only one sim and there were no problems. The second time I was there with two sims and one of them got the issue. So probably better go alone (although Edith is very creepy 😉).

Hey, not sure if this is correct or not- but I am having the issue with my sim functioning as Edith after asking forth the mark. It took a bit to trace the problem, I only realized it once I tried to get them to marry and they wouldn't. Through the process of figuring out why that didn't work- I found out this. I sent them both to see Edith- and the female asked for the mark first and it didn't seem like Edith granted it, then my male sim asked and he was refused also so I just took them home. He seems to be functioning as a normal sim, she is not. I was actually trying something new and playing a game with no mods- so totally vanilla game.
If this is not right, please forward to the right place- I found the process of reporting a bug or adding info to a already existing one very vague.

Same happening to me
I've encountered this as well, where other Sims can't interact with my Sim who communicated with Edith.
She was alone talking to Edith but was a member of a household.
Almost all interactions with her are greyed-out and the main option is "Attempt to Communicate", as if she's Edith. And she even reacts like Edith when they talk to her, by hissing/screaming, etc...
I tried kicking her out of the household, switched some stuff around, then brought her back later, and it's still the same bugged communication options.
Side note: I've had my household members go into the crypts a few dozens times now for hours and they still can't find signs of "Deimos".
