If the bug has already happened, and you didn't move the clothes inside, and the upgrade option is showing up, your washing machine can't be used anymore, the only solution is to sell it and buy another one.
@Arthur Gibraltar Not even Bienchen's mod tho fix washing machines fixes this.

it's the Slot_00000006.save, the one named Washing machine only upgrade
all my washing machines in the lot are without clothes but they show only the Upgrade option.
