If anyone's still experiencing this issue, could you possibly share with me a save file where you've seen it occur? Your Config.log (located in \Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4) would also be great and a video would be the cherry on top! You can DM the link to your files to me, thanks so much for the help!
Instructions here:

@SimGuruNick The issue still exists, though it does seem better, at least for me. But it has happened a couple of times now!
Here is the save file it occurred in.
Here is the Config file.
Hope it helps!

I just made this account to share my saves with bugs by the advice of a fellow Simmer, so I can't DM them as requested, but I had this bug and tried to replicate the original instance multiple times and only had it occur that original time. It was after an extended period in build/buy mode returning to live mode, while my tests were only brief periods in build/buy. I did experience overlapping music when I returned to build/buy to see if it would turn off when I returned to live mode again. I've uploaded my save here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1QfJQocRjBpAj9e8HRYlAmF9S2yIXlwHB/view?usp=sharing
Thanks 🙂 - 4 years ago
I was unable to replicate the bug a second time, so no video, but here's the config and save file.

I'm on Xbox Series S, Game version 1.58.4.2300. I've had this twice in the past week where I've gone from build mode in Henford on Bagley (specifically The Bramblewood). Build mode music has continued playing in live mode. I've gone to Manage Worlds to see if that helps but it got so much worse I had to mute sound as the loading/MW music joined in and tracks played over each other which sounds beyond creepy!
So I restarted my console and because Series S has quick resume it immediately took me back to the same point with the music STILL playing. So at this point my temper goes pop and I yank the plug out of the socket swearing so loudly my cat put his paws over his ears. Started my game again and it had stopped.
It's happened randomly in the past but this is twice in a week so that's concerning.
I've got most packs installed (except for Star Wars, Vampires, Wedding Stories, Bust the Dust and Modern Menswear.)
Possibly coincidentally I've had an issue over the same time period where only one track plays on a loop in build mode. If it's the Realm of Magic or Strangerville one I go out of it and back in again to change the track as I don't like those ones. I also have about 3 or 4 minutes of dead air occasionally and no music plays at all in build mode.

This happens to me occasionally. I think it has to do in my case with 1. switching screens while a zone is loading (cough cough Discord cough) or 2. spending an inordinate amount of time in BuildBuy. A game restart usually makes it go away.

received this bug, reset game and it's still persists. it started after "Showoff Jewelry" interaction of new DLC. sent a gamesave link as requested from solution.
Edit--
reset PC. opened Sims. rather than Resume as usually preformed, i Load the Save, as bcs i wanted to edit a lot bfr playing fam. loading fam and music issue not there. have been playing and no issue.
went to friend's house, and during i had sim snoop (For Rent interaction) and found a secret. attempted to check Profile of sim to read secret. instead now i have music bug again during Live mode.
slight change, if i enter Build at home lot it does continue bt stops as soon as return to Live mode. selecting any Profile from the Friend's list starts the music again, bt Profiles never show. doesn't matter if the sim is clicked on lot, or from Friend's list, no Profile and Build music.
