Further update with more testing done.>
Notes:

- The save files are as follows:
- "MWS Bugged - <DAY> <TIME>" - These are my saves from my main game with player character Ronaldo and future spouse Becca. These saves were started with the use of various Mods, scripts, and CC. But have been disabled for purposing of testing. Individual saves at the following Days and Times noted in the save file title.
- Thursday 9pm, 10pm, 11pm
- Friday 12am, 1am, 2am, 3am, 4am, 5am, 6am, 7am, 8am, 12pm, 1pm, 2pm, 3pm, 4pm, 9pm
- Saturday 8am
- "MWS - New Save - <DAY> <TIME>" - This is a brand new world started today with mods/scripts turned off, no CC, and no custom downloaded sims or lots. Player character is Madalyn and future spouse is Derumk. Relationship was cheated to full so I could propose and start the wedding events. Individual saves with the following dates and times.
- Mon 8am, 2pm, 3pm
- "MWS Bugged - <DAY> <TIME>" - These are my saves from my main game with player character Ronaldo and future spouse Becca. These saves were started with the use of various Mods, scripts, and CC. But have been disabled for purposing of testing. Individual saves at the following Days and Times noted in the save file title.
- I will refer to the characters by name so you can reference what save they are from.
- There is nothing inherently different about each save other than the day/time. I just added all these so it was easy for me to hop between different time periods without having to sit and wait for time progression. Events were started immediately using the player cell phone.
- For standardization: All WMS events were done on the lot "Wedding Venue @ La Coppia Serena", unless stated otherwise.
- All event activities were kept the same between testing - Drinks, Toast, Feast, Dessert. The "Wedding" event had different activities since they don't match up to the events available in the 5 new events.
- The same guests were invited for each save. If it was a solo hosted event, the future spouse was also added to the guest list.
- In the original save (Ronaldo/Becca), various Sims might be nude or missing clothes since I originally had CC clothing and turned them off for testing purposes.
- Bug occurs whether or not I turn off Mods/Scripts or left them all on as I originally was playing.
- Bug occurs on a brand new save with less than 2 in game days played.
Primary Findings:
Original Save: Bug appears to be related to the time of day and not whether or not the future spouse is homeless or not, as previously thought. I did all the tests below with Becca both homeless and moved into a lot and found no difference between in the outcome if the event bugging out.
It appears that between the hours of 5am-2:59pm, Becca will spawn in at the start of the event with the rest of the guests and either immediately vanish, or proceed to run off the lot and disappear once she hits the boundary. Once that happens, the event window immediately disappears, and most guests either vanish or also run off the lot. If you schedule another MWS event, you will see you were awarded a bronze medal for the event that just bugged out.
If the event happens at Ronaldo's home lot, there appears to be no issues as sims will spawn in and run to the house. I'm not sure if that has to do with the fact that I don't have to load to a new venue and that is something that is causing Becca to run home or not.
If you load the 2pm save, and do an immediate event from your phone and it starts at even 2:57pm, the event will start and Becca will run away.
If you load the same 2pm save, and instead wait for it to hit 3:01pm, the event will start and Becca will stay on the lot and the event will proceed as normal.
The same happens for the 4am/5am cutoff as well where 4:58 will work, but 5:01am, Becca will run off.
Anytime before 5am or after 3pm, Becca stays on the lot and the event proceeds as normal.
New Save: I didn't do as much testing given I don't have all the time in the world. If you load the 8am save and start a wedding event, Derumk will spawn in, and disappear or run off the lot the same as Becca does in the original saves. However, where Becca will run off or despawn if the event is at 2pm, Derumk will stay and the event will proceed as normal.
It almost seems like each npc sim is triggering some sort of autonomous event, and depending on the time of day, is causing them to run home. I'm sure this window can be narrowed down for Derumk like I did with Ronaldo/Becca but I don't have the time to test events at each hour of the day with another save.
Event Breakdown
Wedding: No issue. Any time of day.
Reception, Engagement Party, Rehearsal: Event starts, future spouse disappears or runs off, unless it's in their "working" time where the bug doesn't happen.
Family Gathering, Bach Party: Event starts, future spouse disappears or runs off, unless it's in their "working" time where the bug doesn't happen. Regardless if the spouse leave, the event continues since they were simply a guest, and not a co-host
Fix so far
Plan an event for the evening time. Anytime around 7pm seems generally safe. Or move the future spouse into your household first since that'll make them controlled and they wont run off.
Further Edit:
Game is owned through steam. I did a validate files and steam found 40 files that could not be verified and it replaced/fixed them. Retested with the same save files, bug still occurs under the same conditions as before.

I did a full uninstall, including clearing out the "/steamapps/common/The Sims 4" install folder and the "Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4" Settings folder. After reinstall the only thing I moved back were the saved files shared in this post. Bug still occurs.
