[MWS] Event immediately ends depending on time of day

I play this game on the PlayStation. 

Anytime I try to start an event ( reception, engagement dinner, etc. ),  the event automatically ends after it starts. 

After I start the event, the event tasks will pop up on the left side of the screen. Then, a few seconds later, the event will just end on its own and give me a bronze trophy for hosting a bad event.
