@EmeraldLaura Ohh okay. That's kinda lame lol I never noticed it before. I'm going to accept your post as a solution, as it seems to be by design. Thanks for the help!

Qualities are: Poor, Normal, Good, Excellent ? Is there also outstanding quality ?
They they all go to normal when you make a copy ?- 6 years ago

I tried to test this a little:
When making a copy, the quality on the painting when hovering over it in personal inventory - where it ends up automatically - went from original quality:
Poor--> Poor; Normal-->Poor; Excellent-->Normal; Masterpiece-->Masterpiece.
When taking the copied paintings of quality Masterpiece out of personal inventory, and hanging them on the wall on the home lot where they were painted/copied; they showed Normal quality. Simolean value did not change. When toggling original paintings of quality Masterpiece and Excellent in and out of inventory, the quality did not change.
When travelling with copied paintings in personal inventory, of qualities: Masterpiece and Normal, and from one neighbourhood to another in Windenburg; the paintings all showed Normal quality. When travelling with originals with the same quality, they stayed the same and were still shown as Masterpiece and Excellent.
Painting skill and the outcome is very complex in the game, and some testing needs to be done. There is only one Me Too here, so those interested in getting it fixed need to help out 🙂
Here are a couple of questions to try to narrow it down:
1. Which category does the painting belong to - Impressionism, Realism etc.
2. What quality were they painted in, on the easel - Poor, Normal, Excellent, Masterpiece?
3. Do they all revert to the same quality when in inventory - or is it different depending on the original quality?
4. What is the original quality when it degrades in inventory, and what does it turn into?
5. Does the simolean value change in anyway, at any time?
6. Does the quality and value change when travelling with paintings in inventory - personal and/or household; original and /or copy? To what?
7. Does the quality and simolean value change when taking the paintings out of inventory, for instance hanging them on a wall?
8. Why are you making paintings and copies, for what purpose in game? To sell, place on wall as decoration, etc, and do they fulfill that purpose?
