Could you clarify what you mean by stored in another slot ? Do you mean from another category or same category but second outfit ?

If it's cold outside, they will wear their cold weather outfit when you travel to another lot. If you go to a restaurant that has a dress code, that will also influence their behavior
Could you clarify with some examples from what to what they change when traveling ? Does it also happen after reloading the game ?

- I see... maybe the problem has always been but I have not realized until I'm using a sim that alternates between his "gender" usually.
What you have said happens, when it's cold, choose a random outfit from the winter category. I have 2 oufit in men's clothing and 3 outfits in women's clothing for each category, so sometimes it does not match the clothes I had before traveling (for example, before traveling I was dressed as a girl and when I arrived at the destination dresses as a boy).
This also happens in other circumstances and with other clothes, not only in winter and with clothes for cold. For now NPCs behave normally. Sometimes at the end of doing an action the sim changes clothes, to a completely random, and out of the category that is wearing. For example, last night he wore party clothes (female outfit) and was telling jokes in front of the microphone of a bar, and decided to go home because he was tired, without any more he dressed in cold clothes for men and left (male outfit).
It's not a big problem either, I think it's more remarkable because of my Sim's circumstance, but I'm relieved to know that it does not just happen to me, really.- I think the whole clothing stuff is very very wonky and inconsistent and in my opinion needs a good overhaul.
Maybe an outline in feedback how clothing should be behave would be a good thing (officials or game info).
