    I'm having the same issue. I'm at a Karaoke bar and none of the sims will enter. When I go to call them over it's greyed out and says that they need to be invited in first. I play without mods or custom content.

    i've also seen this happen when clicking on a Sim who is still at the same venue, but already leaving/walking towards the door. the only options available are "call over" (greyed out; hovering over it shows "this Sim needs to be invited in first"), "add to group" and "form group..."

    if you "add them to group", hovering over the options to "call over" and "call over group" don't show "Sim is already leaving" but "this Sim needs to be invited in first".
