We have not been able to reproduce this.

I've not had this issue in my current save, only in a previous one. Only issue with the tea maker in this save is the 'tea going bad' glitch, where the only solution is to re-buy the machine. I haven't had my sim(s) upgrade the darn thing because of this issue. :/
