[NEEDS SAVES] Bubble Bath Bubbles stuck in infant's hair

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:Microsoft XBOX One
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.71
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Everything but a couple of kits
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Make an adult sim give an infant a bubble bath. I used the Trap's Trapezoid Tub. See how after the infant is removed from the tub and the bath is over, they still have squiggles above their head as if the bubbles are still on their head.
What happens when the bug occurs? Infant's have bubbles stuck on their head when they exit a bubble bath.
What do you expect to see? Bubbles should no longer be on an infant's head once they exit a bubble bath.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? On console - never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. The infant patch released on March 14th, 2023.

Has anyone else noticed infants having bubbles stuck to their head?

Edit By Crinrict: Added Base Game Version Number, fixed duplicate template, adjusted title

  • Yes, I noticed this after the infant update and before I installed Growing Together yesterday. I have version 1.96.365.1030 with all packs except Journey to Batuu and Spooky. I have no mods. I removed them all before the infants update and have not reinstalled any.

Me, too! I can't get them off. I restarted the game, cleared the cache, changed the outfit, reset the infant... no idea what else to try, other than reverting to a previous save. I'm going to try giving him another bubble bath to see if it reverts it somehow. Beyond that, no clue. Kind of adorable but distracting.

Okay, this seemed to work for me. While the infant sim was selected, I used Weerbesu's UI mod to cheat away the bath moodlet (didn't work) and then I used the debug menu (shift-click) on the infant to see the debug pie menu, then clicked on Cheat Sim Info, then Remove Moodlet, then in the menu that came up, I found an icon in the list (most are blank) that had a bubbly bathtub on it and then selected to remove it.. Then I clicked on the infant's dad and selected GIve Bath to [Infant's Name] and on the way to the bathtub, the bubbles faded. I have no idea which one of the things was what worked, but if you're desperate you can give any or all a go. Hope it helps and Keep on Simming 🙂

  • Now the tears/crying VFX is stuck. He's asleep in his crib and not crying but the tears continue pouring out of him. Are the VFX glitchy? Is there anything else we can try?

    Hello.

For anyone seeing this issue, can you specify the console that you're using?  (For example - Xbox One, Xbox Series S, or Xbox Series X)

    Hello @aquerie!

If you are still encountering this on the latest game version 1.98  (without mods), would you be willing to share your save file(s)?

If so, please send me a private message with a link to the file.

    Instructions here: http://x.ea.com/74420

    Thanks!

  • I had the same problem but all I had to do is go to give the infant a bath again and the bubbles disappeared. I just canceled the action before they actually got there 🙂

I'm having this issue with bubbles in infants' hair sometimes too, but also, sometimes there are bubbles left in the bathtub as well, regardless of who took the bubble bath.
