Food spoiling too fast in fridge

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PlayStation 5
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.72.6.3410
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Backyard stuff, parenthood, toddler stuff, cats & dogs, jungle adventure, my first pet stuff, snowy escape, incheon arrivals, my wedding stories
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Cook food then put away in fridge
What happens when the bug occurs? Food spoils overnight. I select open and the timers are correct and show several days but it spoils overnight/a day. It is happening in all the fridges I try and with any household I am playing.
What do you expect to see? Food last according to fridge timer
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? On console - never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

  • Yes all food. Anything I put into the fridge.

Last night I did open the fridge and there were different dishes in there though.

So it appears that the fridge is triggering a "clean out spoiled food" even though nothing has spoiled and this removed the "get leftovers" button.

@RiotGirl5989 I'm a bit unsure I understand you correctly: When your Sims go to bed, the food has the normal x days spoiler timer in the fridge but the next morning it's spoiled in the fridge and also spoiled if you take it out or do you simply get a clean out spoiled food option on the fridge although they are not spoiled ?

Also does it happen to meals only or also ingredients that spoil ?
  • @crinrict Correct. And its not always sleeping. The fridge gives normal timer (example 3 days) but expire after 1 day.

I dont put use ingredients at this time so I've only been putting cooked food in.
  • This is happening to me in every game. I install the 'fresh maker' upgrade on the fridge too but it never makes a difference. Literally anything my sim cooks and puts in the fridge is spoiled within hours and its driving me crazy. I have all the expansions, kits, packs etc except the Star Wars one and I have no mods installed at all. Can someone please fix this problem????

This is happening in my game randomly too. I always cook the servings of 8 and put into the fridge for leftovers to save time but randomly the food spoils within a few hours instead of having the 6-7 days its supposed to get by being in the fridge. Doesnt happen every time but has been quite often, seems worse if my sim travels off their lot.

    Hey all,

Just checking in to see if anyone is still seeing this on a modless game as we've been unable to reproduce it on our end.

If so please share your save file with us (instructions: http://x.ea.com/74420) so we can take a look.

    Thanks!

Hi @EA_Solaire, I just saw this in my new modless save I'm playing for the Cozy Celebrations event, but it's only the Mushroom Waffles from the Home Chef Hustle kit for some reason. The Berry Waffles I made on the same waffle maker are ticking down at a normal rate from this fridge, but the mushroom waffles are ticking down like they were sitting on a counter. The mushroom waffles were made after the berry ones.

Do you still want the save? I'm happy to send it along.
