How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.86
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All content installed.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Play a Sim who is a tenant and try to pay their rent.
What happens when the bug occurs? There is no way at all to pay rent. Bills arrived once to the mailbox in 11 days, she paid them but they did not include rent. The rent value is showing as 0 on everything. There's no option to pay on the phone/PC or in the "Rental" conversation interactions. The bills breakdown has no option there either. She's had warning notifications about being late.
What do you expect to see? I expect to be able to pay rent.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? On console Never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. I added For Rent.
I've tried travelling, I've tried enabling and disabling events, I've added the landlord to My Households, I tried going on vacation but no bills arrived at all. I keep checking the mailbox and the phone. I keep inviting over the landlord, I've tried playing as the landlord. I'm all out of ideas now. Her tenancy rolled over to the next 7 day period despite this going on. When she moved in it said the rent was 0.
I've spent 4 days redesigning the lot and got it from 1 star to 4 star. I hope I haven't wasted my time. It's the first rental I've played because I wanted to give time for bugs to be ironed out but it's just impossible.
It would even help if there was a link to pay added to the warning notifications.
I can't share saves or use mods to fix this as I'm on Xbox and I can't use cheats either as most cheats affect console achievements.

I've got this to work now.
I had to do a game and pack reinstallation for another issue and I went back to the rental property after reinstalling everything. I moved the tenant out and into a different lot. Then I went into the landlord's household and set the rent again on the tenancy agreement. Through Manage Worlds the correct rent was displayed (see image). But when I tried to move the tenant back in via Manage Worlds the rent total reset back to zero again 🤦. So I cancelled the tenant moving and the rent went back to the correct amount. Instead I went back to live mode and got the tenant to move in via her phone. This time the correct rent was displayed. She moved in and the correct rent is also finally showing on the household bills (see image).
So in future I'll remember not to move Sims in to a rental lot via Manage Worlds and instead get them to move in via their phone as that seems to be the workaround for me.

I just read on twitter from another player that they have solved it with this workaround, just sharing it in case it helps debugging or works for other players issues too:
It seems to happen when the landlord that is currently owning your rental as a business has no residence. If you make someone that is living in world buy your rental it starts working again.
