Very disappointed to see this bug STILL being ignored. What are we supposed to do to get it noticed? There's been 9 patches since we first reported it and it's been 6 months now and the developers still haven't even acknowledged the issue. It's literally just one single line of code that would be incredibly easy to fix. Ugh.
Please just get it fixed or at least acknowledged?? If there is issues recreating the issue just ask people in this thread
- 5 years ago@Onverser Yea, I honestly felt some type of way that they just out of nowhere came up with a fix for skintones affecting sims aging up too light when it was mentioned once on twitter. It happened within a day or so yet something as significant as family trees being broken hasn't even been remotely mentioned once and this has been a topic for months. I actually thought that they would come out with a combined patch fixing both skintones when aging and the family tree since they both are cas related and family based issues but I saw quickly I was wrong. It's really disappointing. Like, a part of me sees no reason in purchasing new packs bcus I can't go into cas with my sim families that I've played the longest and who have multiple generations. I can't enjoy the game the way I would like and it's not fair to pay for something I ultimately can't use with a family I spent years on. It's disheartening and disappointing to say the least and when the sims team says, oh just create a new save, that doesn't make me feel confident in their abilities as a consumer when they make an unreasonable and thoughtless response like that one. It's just not right. It's not fair to the players. All I can do is hope that the family tree issue will get fixed sooner rather than later. Trying to remain hopeful.

You actually thought? well, welcome to TS4, and what happens, stays. There are ways around it, if you want to build more of a NPC house, just build in the World View map.
- 5 years ago@Citysim9997 I just had high hopes for a fix finally. I didn't expect them to fix that one cas issue so fast. I figured maybe they'd combine the fix with the family tree issue since it all seems to be cas related. As for "building more of an npc house", I am not sure what you mean. I don't have a problem build (yet). My concern is not being able to utilize cas without the cost of my family tree becoming unraveled.

I was also having this problem when I didn't play with CC or mods so it is definitely a game problem. I didn't have to go into free-build to have it happen, just regular old build/buy mode.
I am curious about something. As I was reading through this string, I noticed the mention of family trees not being fixed. What exactly is happening with the family trees?

As far as the family tree issue, when I go into cas, the family tree becomes disconnected from the family I'm currently playing. I'll try to explain it better. Right now, my current household consists of 6 sims, the husband, the wife and their 4 kids. Then there are 2 other sims who are the older children to them but live outside the house. Those 2 older children also have their own kids. Once I go into cas of the 6 sim household and leave, it changes the relationships of the wife and husband. It still displays them as spouse and soulmate but it also adds them in as, "brother and sister" under the relationship tab of the UI. When I click on the family tree, the wife or either the husband will show up twice, the first line will connect them as spouse while the other line connects them as siblings. On top of that, the 2 older children who have families of their own, become disconnected from that family tree and instead, become half siblings to their other 4 younger siblings who live in the 6 sim household. Depending on which sim I play (bcus the wife in the 6 sim household has 3 other siblings who also have families and some of their kids have kids, too) the family tree then becomes a big broken mess. I'll share some images of the foolery....
In the first image, you'll see the one spouse is shown twice, as I mentioned above. Then there's empty images within the family tree. The 2 sims who live outside the house are suppose to be displayed there but instead, the game recognizes only their kids. It's bizarre. One of the siblings who live outside of the 6 sim household has 2 kids while the other has 1 which is why there are 3 empty images displayed and each kid is connected to it but I honestly have no idea why. The family tree is just simply out of order. The 2nd image has the two older siblings separated from the others and if I clicked on one of them, a blank image connected to the father will be displayed as if he had them with someone else.In the 3rd image, I added one of the older siblings back into the family, hoping to see if it would make a difference but it didn't. The husband still showed up as his wife's brother and the 2 siblings were still half siblings. It doesn't just stop there but I'd be typing a lot more lol Anyway, this issue happens with and without mods and cc. I hope my explanation wasn't too, too confusing. I know it was long, Sorry.
