Reset (debug) didn't work and the game stopped responding completely. This game has become impossible to play without toggling death off.
Do you have lot of stuff in the dying sims inventory ? If so, try deleting some before they die.

Did you enter the testingcheat cheat ?
Going to close this as while it still seems to be happening it seems more than a random issue.
Just use this solution if it happens

Resetting the Sim with resetsim firstname lastname might also work

I tried it this way, and it just deleted the body without giving me a tombstone. Do you know a work-around that leaves the urn?
This helped a lot, my sim died in the same hour his daughters girlfriend and child moved in, she was about to share the news that she was pregnant but he died in front of his wife and daughter. From 1 in the afternoon to 4 in the morning the grim reaper stood outside the house and the corpse rotted in the living room. Thanks for the tips!
I had now a cat which wouldn't be reaped, the Grim Reaper just vanihed and my game wasn't savable.
Debugging the cat solved the problem though...the cat is alive again. I hope it doesn't turn into a Pet Cematary creature ;-)
Singular occurence so far which might or might not be related to playing the game on fastest speed as everyone was sleeping
