The conservationist work from home requirement "prepare grant application" seems to be only doable in one sitting... and sometimes takes my sims 6-8 in-game hours. I'm not sure if this is because he is a perfectionist, but it's often very difficult for me to complete this WFH assignment without mood cheats since my sim will often autonomously quit the task at 80 or 90% without a finished grant application appearing in his inventory, so I have started sending him to work every day.
Additionally, if I save and quit my game while he is working on the grant application, the action does not resume when I load the game. Considering how long the action takes, this is really disappointing and locks me out of saving and quitting in a reasonable timeframe if he is working on a grant application.
I did find this thread: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-PC/Conservationist-Career-Unable-to-Prepare-Grant-Application/td-p/7969701
While this has happened a couple of times, and I would prefer that there is a popup (as with books or term papers in DU), I feel that the main problem is that the work cannot be resumed despite taking nearly an entire sim day.
I'm not sure if this is a bug, but if this is how the feature was designed, I think it should be changed. I write grant applications for my job, and I certainly do not try to write them all in one sitting and throw them out if I don't finish 🙂

This is still a really annoying issue in my game. I often revert to old saves to avoid wasting an entire day on this. I've discovered that I also often need to purchase a new computer before writing a grant application, because if the computer breaks 75% of the way through the application, there is no choice but to replace the computer and start over again.
