Neighborhood stories - Unplayed Sims constantly pregnant, no other story types

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Often (50% - 99%)
What is your current game version number? 1.97.62.1020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Cats & Dogs, Seasons, Get to Work, City Living, Vampires, Realm of Magic, Discover University, Get Together, Snowy Escape; Tiny Living, Parenthood, StrangerVille, Dine Out, Fitness Stuff, Vintage Glamour Stuff, Perfect Patio Stuff, Cool Kitchen Stuff, Spooky Stuff, Laundry Day, Holiday Celebrations
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? With neighborhood stories on, view an unplayed family that has a house, ie sims that are "in world." Currently played on long speed.
What happens when the bug occurs? Unplayed households will continue have new babies or adopting until household is completely full, with sims becoming pregnant almost immediately after giving birth. Long speed may make the problem worse. Additionally, this is made worse by the fact that all other story times other than accidental death aren't happening at all; no new marriages with offspring or moving out.
What do you expect to see? To not have every unplayed household couple have six children and not needing to still be micromanaged with setting new rules or turning off births/adoptions completely or manually separating families with adult children who never move out.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

This seems to be a consistent problem since neighborhood stories was first released, particularly if you're playing on long. Sims keep adopting and having babies non-stop, which is made worse by how all other story types never seem to happen. No new marriages, no moving out. Just existing couples endlessly getting new kids until they have six, who then live together until everyone is dead.

At this point, after having used neighborhood stories for this long and this not being fixed (despite patch notes saying it was last year), I'm pretty done with it. I can start setting custom rules for every household to stop the births, but if no one is getting married or moving out, I'm better off just turning them off entirely. It's a nice idea that I was excited about when it came out, but with the way this is working it's not worth the trouble.

  • @primitive137 Marriages aren't part of NS and moving out only moves out the whole family from a lot into the currently not in world pool.

Are they not moving out of their houses at all or are you expecting them to automatically split ?

Personally for me this has gotten a lot better since they fixed it and other stories occur more often. Do you check the notifications daily ?
