I can't confirm this. In my game. I had someone from the stories say they died of electrocution and their ghost came to my lot since I have the Haunted Lot Challenge with electric bolts inside them. The devs might have made it so it doesn't happen often since they don't want so many sims to die. I can tell you in my game I had a Neighbourhood Stories death last night. So I can confirm it does work and why people are not talking about it since it must be working in their game.
I've just downloaded the base game on the PS4 and it's still the same, so it's definitely a bug. I played for 4 hours real time with nothing but death by accident on in neighbourhood stories and all it would tell me was that nothing of note had happened.
- @Fleeglesnark Might be an issue on Console then since you been talking about Xbox and Play station versions. I don't play on Console so I can't check. Hopefully someone else can confirm this since I can't. Happy simming.

- @Fleeglesnark I've done the same in regards to only having my settings on having babies in neighborhood stories. I've gone through up to 10 sim days on one lot and nothing!
