Notified she was having baby twice only 1 born and Fertile Trait not working

Both my current adult Sims have the Fertile trait and today 02/12/15 was the 4th attempt at having more than 1 child. The notification saying she is having a baby came up twice so I thought she was having twins but she only had 1 baby.

Either the notification happening twice is a glitch\bug or my baby ate her twin, please inspect the games code associated with birth to fix.

Does the Fertile trait do anything to increase the odds of having triplets and twins? I am starting to think it doesn't.

Futher Information: Game fully patched. No CC or mods in my game. My computer specs are far above the recommended and all drivers are up-to-date.

  • When you have twins, you just get the pop-up to name them twice. Was that the message you got twice

  • The message on the Notification wall appears twice. Only 1 baby born and only get asked for the name once.

Sorry about the delay in getting back to you but my Sims 4 game was moved to my old Origin id by support to sort out some other stuff so I didn't find your reply till now.

Also have tried to have multiples by having another couple get the Fertile trait reward and they have only had single babies so far. They did get the notification twice again last time.

6 single babies from 6 attempts at getting multiple babies by giving the Fertile trait reward to my Sims so far. ☹️

  • Hi Crinrict

    Thanks for the feedback.

I got the double message on my notification wall with today's pregnancy but this time I did get twins so that was fine.

I consider the double message glitch when they only have a single baby irritating but minor. I did remove all my cache files etc and cleaned up my library just a couple of weeks ago which has fixed the no cooking bug for me (that is it has NOT come back yet).

I am very happy with not having constant twins which I did have prior to the patch that fixed that issue. I am just disappointed that the Fertile trait doesn't seem to do anything and is a waste of time - just like the Mentor trait.  They really should test the reward traits to see which ones actually do what they say - I haven't used very many of them but I can say that Fertile and Mentor do NOT do as stated.

On a personal note - I'm very glad to see you are still around helping so many people. We used to chat a lot on the old Sims 3 forums before I had a health issue that forced me to stop gaming for a couple of years.

The double message is weird since you should only get one, even if you have twins.

I'm thinking the randomizer is not a well programmed one.

  • The fertile trait should have impact, but recently for most people it hasn't been. If you really want twins or triplets, you could try a cheat.
