After the latest patch this month of March, some of the arrow keys (left and right) do not work anymore when playing Sims 4 on PC. You can go up and down. But not one side to the other. Sometimes if the game is restarted it suddenly works. Though it still pauses a bit. Either way, this was never an issue until this last patch.
The problem prevents players from exploring or navigating anywhere in the game. It also, makes it almost impossible to build on lots in the game. Btw, having to come out a game save and the many windows that takes time to load in order to restart can take up so much game time. Thus, I hope this problem is investigated and fix. On various forums like Reddit, I see others having the same issue with this patch.
Rightclick the game in Origin and select repair. That will fix it.

Thanks, but a little too nervous for that. Can't EA patch this on their end? Especially, since so many others have same issue?

Why would you be nervous about repairing your game? EA are probably looking in to fixing what causes it for some people like you and me so that it hopefully does not happen in the future. They can however not fix it for you when it has happened but it is easy to fix with a repair.

Turns out, repairing the game doesn't work for me or others. So, I was right to be nervous. I hate when patches breaks things and EA takes so long to address these kinds of issues. Hopefully, EA needs to fix this (arrow key issue) on their end soon because it's a pain to restart the game over and over to play it. Especially, for builders like myself.
