Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PlayStation 5
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Often (50% - 99%)
What is your current game version number? 1.58
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All of them.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Try and ask someone to join households with social interaction. Not sure about the Household number issue I had.
What happens when the bug occurs? The pop up come and you transfer the Sim from the other house to played house and the transfer never happens. Happened twice with 2 different Sims into the same house. The house only had 7 capacity. Tried to get pregnant with 7 Sims in House. Option would not be given to Try for Baby. Had to delete dog for it to appear. Dog was not pregnant. Got pregnant and still could not move in partner Sim with Social Interaction.
What do you expect to see? I expect to see the Sim's icon now showing as in the Household. And I expect that if there are only 7 Sims in the House my Sim to be able to try for a baby.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? On console - never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure
Not sure if this was after this last update. Started this save with a married couple. I hadn't tried to move someone in before the Husband died.
My Sim's husband died and she remarried. She tried to move in her partner using the social interaction and she just would not move in. Meaning, the pop-up would come to do the transfer, the checkmark was selected, and then it just would never happen. The partner never transferred into the Household. So we got married and the partner lived somewhere else. Well, then she died. On my lot no less. So... my Sim met someone else. Decided to have one last child.
My Sim was trying to get pregnant and it wouldn't give the option at all. Then when I went to control the Sim that did not live in the Household to try, it was greyed out and said the Household was too large. The Household only had 5 Sims and a dog and cat. It wasn't too large. There was one space left. I read on one post in the Forums where someone mentioned maybe one of the animals were pregnant. The dog was female, but elderly and never bred. I deleted the dog (which I really didn't want to do) and low and behold the try for baby interaction appeared. Then, my Sim tried join households and it again would not happen. Yes, she was pregnant, but there were 5 people, she was pregnant, and one cat. I went to manage worlds and did it from there and it worked. Not an issue at all. So it seems the social interaction isn't working.
That and for added measure, the Household isn't being totaled correctly for the use of Pregnancy interactions to work.
I hope this was written well enough to make sense.
- crinrict4 years agoHero+@Nozladi I'm merging your post with another thread. I tested this yesterday and could duplicate the issue on the OPs save.
Yours does sounds slightly different as with OPs save moving in via social is possible. It's just try for baby or adoption that doesn't work but it sounds like the same issue otherwise.
When you deleted the dog, was your household at 6 Sim only or did you add another Sim instead ?
On the OPs save it was a particular Sim causing the issue but I couldn't find out what the issue with her is.- Nozladi4 years agoRising Veteran
@crinrict Once I deleted the dog, the Household was at 6, yes; 2 teens, 2 children, and a cat. That opened up "Try For A Baby". Once I got pregnant I should have still had 1 occupancy slot. Does that make sense? It was odd the social "Join Household" would not work at all. I was going to try again today to see what would happened. Didn't get there. I'll try tomorrow and report back.
- crinrict4 years agoHero+@Nozladi Yes, that's what OP was seeing too and I did too in their game. 6 Sims works, 7 doesn't. I was able to narrow it down to a particular Sim in the OPs game (the Sim wasn't pregnant).
Could you try the following to figure out which Sim it is (I can't check your save as you're on console)
1. Backup your save in case anything goes wrong
2. Start with the female Sims/Pets
3. Remove the first Sim from the household and add a random other one in instead (you can do that by any means, I found that cheating is the easiest by using testing cheats and use add/remove. If you're working on a backup of the game, this shouldn't be a problem for your achievements)
4. Check if they can try for baby.
5. Repeat for every Sim (reload original game after you checked a Sim) until you can try for baby even at 7.
6. Once you found the culprit, please upload to the gallery and post the name here.
