I'm so glad I found this thread. I don't play with CC or mods and I was starting to panic trying to figure it out. My problem was basically the same. I ended up quitting to the main menu after saving. Then I Resumed the game and everything was sorted out.
However, based on everyone else's replies, I'm thinking I got very lucky with whatever was bugging out.
I don’t use cc or mods either and this worked for me. Whew! I was worried my infant was going to be taken away!
