[OPEN] Can't pick up Infant/ Toddler

Just had this happen today with my sim's toddler. She autonomously placed her in the high chair, then couldn't "let out" and had a pathing error. Resetting the toddler got her out of the high chair, but she still couldn't be picked up by any of the other sims. There's no last exception. I tried multiple times over multiple sim days, but no matter which sim I used nor where I had them - even both out in the middle of the yard with nothing nearby - the adult would get a pathing error for any interaction that required picking up the toddler. I tried resetting the toddler and the high chair, but it didn't help. Finally traveled to the park and back, taking the toddler along. When they returned, she could be picked up again.
