@MuggyQuasar For comparison, please empty your sim's inventory, harvest some new produce, and see whether it can be sold. It's possible one of your mods corrupted this sim's inventory or some items in it. You can also test with a different sim if you prefer, again using produce obtained after you removed the mods.
If that doesn't help, please test in a new save.
@lukhi92 Please do the same, with no mods present.
I've done everything as you've suggested and the problem still persists. Furthermore, using ingredients for the canning and recipes doesn't actually use them up, and my chicken was deleted following the Fenwick Fair despite the game claiming it would be placed into my inventory. This is such a buggy mess, the inventory system is completely broken.

I play on pc, all packs, and no mods. I found my chicken in family inventory. Hope you find yours.

Same problem. It is the seeds that cannot be sold.
If I harvest 10 tulips and then get 3 tulip seeds from Patchy, I cannot sell the stack. If I open up the stack it will let me sell the 10 tulips individually, but not the 3 seeds.
You can place them on the ground or floor and then transfer them to your household inventory. You can sell them that way, but you will get 4-5x the simoleons by doing that. A 17 Simoleon Dahlia sells for 84 if you drag it to the household inventory then sell it. If you sell them directly by dragging them from the ground, it will give you the normal price.
I'm not sure if it's the same bug or two different ones. You definitely can't sell seeds in the regular inventory. But any plant or seed that you drag into the household inventory first will give you an increased price. I noticed that because it was easier to just drag everything to the household inventory and sell it all at once. But when I noticed the money it was giving me, I could tell something was wrong. So I can't tell if they are related.
I do know that this cropped up after Cottage Living was released. I do not own that pack, so it must have come in the patch that accompanied the release.

@harpua - I have noticed the increased price in household inventory, too - not just from seed packet harvestables but also from regular harvestables in the household inventory. I experience both issues in a base game-only save, too. Agree that it came from the Cottage Living patch, not from the pack.
For the harvestables that can't be sold from seed packets, you can turn on the multi-select option in personal inventory and then it lets you sell all of it. I've found it easier than dragging them to the ground and then into the household inventory.
