My cat still jumps on counters and tables, even when she has learned not too! and when i tell her to stop jumping on counters/tables, i get a notification saying  ' Maggie has learned not to jump up on counters ' But she has already learned not too, but still does it!

I pretty much get this notification everytime i tell her to stop jumping on counters/tables..

How often does the bug occur? Often (50% - 99%)
What is your current game version number? 13.13.0.5526
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? 99% of them. Missing a couple stuff packs. BTW, I can't find the executable game files anymore, so I don't know the version.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Just play the game for a while. Adopt or download a cat. They'll jump up on counters, tables, etc.
What happens when the bug occurs? The option for disciplining cats doesn't show up very often. They'll jump off and I'll never see the option. Also can't become a companion.
What do you expect to see? I expect to always see the option to keeping them off counters. They'll sit there a while and I don't see the feature. This is a known bug that has been reported many times. Can't believe it's broken again. I've also seen the companion bug reports from years ago. Just reapply the same fix and stop breaking it. BTW, stop with this blasted verification code business. I have my game running and a couple other things. Not only do I have my browser open for a search, but then I have to open my email. You're going to cause my game to crash or computer to halt. I don't have a newer computer or unlimited resources. I've got a decent sized rig, but not that much. EA app crashed trying to repair my game. Figures.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.

Just look around at all the complaints about this and I won't need to supply screenshots, videos, or anything else. Play the game with cats and you will see this issue all the time. They love to jump on furniture.

I cannot get this cat to stop with the counters. My sim doesn't have time to do anything else except fuss the cat over and over, only for it to ignore me until I scold it about 7 or 8 times, then have to pick it up to make it get off the counter. Rinse and repeat ALL DAY LONG. I cant cook, I cant eat, I cant do anything because I keep stopping to get the cat off the counters trying to train it. I'm on the verge of not playing with pets at all.

Sorry for the lack of answer.

It took a LONG time, but after many times of manually picking up the cat to get her off the counter and putting her on the floor and scolding her, she eventually did learn and stopped, but it took an obnoxiously long time.

I don't even know what files to send.

It's now well into 2024, and this is still happening. I just got Cats and Dogs. I can train the cats out of all other behaviours, but training them out of jumping on the counters just doesn't work. It's very disappointing to find yet another bug that hasn't been addressed.

Yes, me. I just got Cats and Dogs and it's happening. My cats can be trained out of all other behaviours, but not jumping on counters. Supposedly they have learned not to, but they just keep doing it. Repeated lectures make no difference. Sometimes the option to lecture them doesn't even appear.

I just encountered this issue in my game recently, but with my dog that still eats the cat's poop from the litter box after learning not to. I still need to do a little bit of testing as I'm using mods and I also need to search if there's a different thread for this. I'll provide a save file if I'm able to reproduce it without mods.

(In case you don’t see this at the bottom of the thread)

Not sure if this will work for you but I can confirm this finally fixed the cat jumping on the counter issue. After swapping between “lecture” and “scold” about jumping on counters a literal 20-50 times, I eventually got the music and notification that my cat had learned not to jump on the counters. Lo, and behold however, my cat was back on the counter within seconds.
It was at this point that I evicted my household and then moved them back into the house - if you move back in “furnished”, you essentially just return to your home. When the cat started jumping on the counters again, I repeated my “lecture”/“scold” routine and got the successful training message again after about 15 attempts. But this time... IT ACTUALLY WORKED. The cat now goes over to the places it usually would jump to and looks up at them but doesn’t follow through with it anymore.
    Best of luck!

Details: my cat’s characteristics are glutton, fluffy, and clever.

This WORKED for me too! Only problem is, moving back cost me 45 000 Simoleons. I built the whole house from ground up. I handcrafted some of the furniture, made all the artwork, and grew and fertilized all the plants myself. And now I'm paying 45 000 Simoleons to move out and immediately back in, just to get rid of an irrational bug.

I'm doing an absolutely-no-cheats-playthrough, so it's really my hard-earned cash I'm spending. It's not so bad I guess, I'm not struggling to make money. But this sets me back a considerable amount of time. Anything for my pets... But seriously, thank you dude. This was driving me crazy.
