@crinrict
The template didn't come up. Here's the info:
Product: The Sims 4
Platform: PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.103.315.1020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Turn dust on in Game Options. Add the expensive robovac to at least one floor in a lot. Fully upgrade the robovac. Turn it on and choose a setting (I tried all 3, 6, 12, 24, didn't make much difference) Play the lot until dust appears. It takes about 7-10 days before dust will start appearing. Check the robovac periodically during the week and watch what it does. When dust appears, it will be full and usually on the base. Sometimes it might still be moving around beeping because it is full.
What happens when the bug occurs? The robovac doesn't empty and it stops running once it reaches it's base or continues to try to vacuum but beeps. Sometimes they will also break.
What do you expect to see? The robovac working as it did before.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Yes - Also tested in a vanilla (no mods/CC) save. Does the same.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. For Rent Prepatch.
The 2 robovacs from C&D no longer incinerate the dust and trash they collect. Prior to the pre For Rent patch they did, so you could keep the dust game option on and also keep your lots free of dust if you wanted to. I would place one on each floor, including inaccessible floors, upgrade them, set them to clean every 12 hours and I never had to worry about dust and dust bunnies/filth fiends showing up on those floors unless I wanted it/them to. It was basically, fire and forget. That's not so now.
Since the update, what is happening is the robovacs will keep the floors clean until they fill up. They will return to the charging base and not run again until you manually collect the trash from them, so you have to constantly check them every day to keep them running. Sometimes they will keep running but beeping with a smoke trail or just break and have to be replaced since you cannot repair them. Once they fill up, dust and dust bunnies are soon to follow.
And if the devs do work on a fix for this, could they also make them repairable again please. That's an old bug where they cannot be repaired when they break (even though they have an unbreakable upgrade). Just goes into an endless loop and never gets fixed.
I do play with mods. I also tested in a vanilla save with no mods and CC. It happens there as well.
Edit By Crinrict: Adjusted tag to fit the naming conventions.
Is this what you are seeing ?

Sorry about getting the tagging wrong. Oops!
And it's the same thing going on as the post you linked.
All I can really say is that I never had the problem before. It just started for me after the For Rent pre patch. It worked as it should up to that point. The inability to repair the upgraded robovacs has been going on since before I started using them after Bust the Dust was released. That issue is the same as with other upgraded unbreakable electronics. Never ending repair that never repairs the object and usually resulting in a sim getting electrocuted if you don't catch it in time.
- crinrict2 years agoHero+@CGrant56 I'm merging your post then. I'm inclined to say it's unrelated to BDT, just will take you longer if you don't have that pack.

I do not have BtD, can confirm that the upgraded vacuums from C&D do not incinerate the trash like it should. This started happening for me only recently, so I'd say similar to the previous poster and it was part of the For Rent pre-release patch. The vacuums do dock fully and have the flashing lights like it should be incinerating, but when they go out for their next auto-run, they start full instead of empty.
