The walls showing nearby apartments is SO annoying, it really disturbs the gameplay. And this worked well before one of the updates was released!
IX Landgraab in San Myshuno, I can't paint the ceiling over part of the flat.
Found a little workaround: Upload your apartment to your library (remove all the walls were doors are so it becomes a single room), bulldoze the entire and lot place your apartment, add the missing walls and you should be able to paint the ceilings or atleast this worked for me.
