Was there ever a solution to this issue?
I think this issue might be fixed now. The patch that came out before For Rent made apartment lots at least somewhat editable, so I went back to the lot with the stuck urn, and I was able to put it in my sim's inventory.
The issue is mostly fixed now (March 2024), but I'm having a weird variation on it.
I am now able to click "add to inventory" (in the past, I haven't been), thanks to For Rent and its patches. However, two of my urns spawned directly on top of each other, and now I can't add those because my sim said the path/route is blocked. (You know, the little footprints above their heads). Any answers to this?
I take it back; this is not fixed. I visited Hakim House for the first time in ages, and I still can't get my sim to pick up the urns in front of the apartment door. A couple of them were old and I was able to choose Destroy to get rid of them, but a couple of them are newer and Destroy isn't available. In addition, two of the urns were overlapping, as a poster above described. I only happened to notice there were two while hovering over them to destroy the older one.
