Isn't it supposed to be like that since there are patterned white/transparent swatches that wouldn't be visible against the regular background?

@rioohmy There are ways to create contrast on items like that that don't require such an obvious and distracting solution and wouldnt take away from the overall cohesion in build mode. I personally would go with a translucent outline on the swatch previews for the few items removing the black background would affect.
