The interaction just cancels by itself when there isn't any toys
Did you try the same household in a fresh save or did you use a different one in the new save ?
What about other families in the same save ? Does it happen to them too ?

I had the same in my game. The only solution was to get rid of this damn toy box and never buy it again.Exactly the same happens in my game with the pet toy box.
Hi crinrict, it happens with other families in the same save file! I would buy them a toy box and it would happen 100% of the time
I even kept the toy box and deleted all the toys inside of it, the interaction would still pop up to ' clean up toys '

The interaction appearing autonomously is part of the intended design.
However, user directed actions should not be cancelled in order to clean up toys.
Has any of you observed this behaviour?

- No, the interaction doesn't cancel anything, it just disappears from the queue.
