@Psychotps They work for me in residential lots, at least I was able to build an extension for the Landgraabs.
Edit: You can't make changes to what's already inside the clients home, I think that's by design. I'm able to add a new structure (attached to or detached from the house), attic and basement as long as I don't try to delete the clients things.
- Psychotps5 years agoSeasoned Ace@Xiaco Strangely, I tried it on the Landraab's home myself. Every time I tried making a new room outside, it gave me the same error. So far, I haven't been able to create a new room ANYWHERE on ANY lot on ANY gig.

@Psychotps That's strange.
You weren't able to build any walls, like totally separate from the house when not making a room?
Which room type did they want? I got a nursery for an apartment and couldn't do anything to the place. The second client wanted an in-laws addition but I couldn't touch anything they already had. The third client wanted any type of room and I couldn't touch anything that was already there. For these I also couldn't exceed the tile count. The last job I had to do a gym addition. I could make the room bigger than the client wanted and I could get rid of and shuffle around their existing items. (Here's a short clip from the last gig. I'm sorry for the potato quality..)
- 5 years ago@Psychotps They actually do work on residential lots. You have to build a room outside of the main structure. sometimes the additional room cannot be attached to the main structure and has to be seperate.
- Psychotps5 years agoSeasoned Ace@kikoi_builds No, it doesn't.
I tried it a GREAT MANY TIMES.
Cannot build connected to the first floor.
Cannot build connected to the second floor.
Cannot build on the roof.
Cannot build a separate building.
Cannot build in a basement.
...
Cannot build ANYWHERE.
IT
DOES
NOT
WORK.
I can't possibly be any clearer.- 5 years ago
@Psychotps and @kikoi_builds I think the key part here is why does adding a room work for some and not for others?
It could be
- the type of room addition the client wants
- EA or player made custom lot
- specific lots (although our experience building at the Landgraabs' was totally different, so probably not this...)
- one pack / combination of packs
- anyone have any other ideas?
I know it's frustrating, but getting upset isn't helping anyone. Whenever the game doesn't allow me to build the walls like I'm supposed to, I just enter bb.enablefreebuild and complete the gig that way. It's better than my sim losing reputation and this way I can actually change some of the eyesores in the neighborhood.
