hmmm.. no my issue sounds similar but different from both of these. heres a screenshot to show you better what exactly is going on. ive tried leaving and returning to different lots. ive tried new saves, new sims as well as the attempts in my op. im thinking its a bug that needs to be fixed with an update, but truthfully i hope its not because i want to play the career asap! lol
Could you mind sending me your save as well ?

I had this same problem, and was frustrated. I tried everything on basic troubleshooting and no help on that. Then I remembered the Gig picker debug, and used that to get random designer gig, unfortunately, because I picked it that way, it bugged so I couldn't complete the gig, but after cancelling and getting to home lot, the normal gig list worked again normally.
Did few gigs already and seems to work now...
This might be possible workaround worth of testing for others with the empty gig list problem

This actually fixed my issue thank you!!! What a life saver. My sim is back to ruining homes
@elisafagundesYES!! @Hiruwolf's suggestion elimated the issue for me. I put in testingcheats true in the cheats bar (shift + ctrl + c) and then clicked on my sim until i found debug career gigs. at first it wasnt working but im stubborn so i just kept clicking it until eventually it popped up and now i have a new gig for my sim!
