STILL NO FIX!
In the meantime, my loner alien Scientist is camped out in the basic community space. Transforming all the original rubbish into very useful items. Tip: spread them out first. 9 times out of 10 one of the bigger rubbish piles turns into a bed. Caution: This can be transformed again and again until you get what you want, but sometimes turns into a sleeping bag then cannot be changed anymore.
Making it a landfill site ensures at least one lot of people each day drops off a fridge or oven or TV or Boombox which can be transformed without repairing. These make the best items.
Giving the lot the trait of Cat Hangout means a constant social interaction ability.
Being a Freegan he can live off the dumpster diving or contents of the dumped fridges.
All the things he retrieves from Dive for Deals goes to home lot.
My Scenario is to see if he can convert Community Space into a fully functioning Recreation Center before he ages up from Young Adult with only buying Gym items.Once that can be done, the crowds turn up. By then he usually has enough stuff to head home. To give myself an added difficulty, I do it in the No Skills Scenario. He gets job as Scientist and stays until he has Transforming Simray, then he resigns once he has used all his Vacation Days! Then he can live on site 24/7.
I've been lucky enough to transform dumped items into pianos (twice). Chess boards. Easels.
Transforming into toilets has been rare, so keep the ones you get at the beginning.
Fun fact, I always get a vending table. Some are Salvadorian though.
Only Sims who visit lot are the landfill dumpers, who drop item and run. They can sometimes be interacted with and once TVs and radios are added, they may hang around for a bit.
Added bonus is no fires when transforming.
I allow myself structural building changes eg adding another level to the building if needed. I have to purchase Jungle Gym and bar. And funnily enough dining chairs are rare.
Many of the transformed items that result are child and cat friendly, so if you have a family, they can be accommodated!
Best way to use Community Spaces until they fix it, lol.
