An empty space under the Sim's name suggests that something should be there.

Could you please check if animals in your game have colorful emotion name or is always the same color?

Exactly. The blank space indicates that the text is missing. 

I believe the writing that shows for pets is the color for their emotion. Green text for happy, orange for uncomfortable, grey for dazed etc.
