I had the same thing happen on a regular residential lot too, not just in the rentals. I've also had the Cursed Book not appear.

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Play long enough in a residential, might require the new trait I'm not sure, wait for a maintenance event to trigger and then have nothing happen, which means you can't solve it.
What happens when the bug occurs? The item or interaction required to solve the maintenance event does not appear
What do you expect to see? A way to solve the maintenance event as described in the event pop up
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Yes, several, but the error persists without any of them installed
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Installation of For Rent
