[OPEN] [FR] Explosive Malfunction can't be resolved as nothing can be replaced

Product: The Sims 4
Platform: Windows 10
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time the event occurs
What is your current game version number? 1.103.315.1020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Seasons, For Rent, household
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Have the 'Explosive Malfuntion' event occur while hosting a rental unit in your house
What happens when the bug occurs? The event wants me to replace stove, oven, or grill. I cannot open build/buy mode to replace these things. The option does not come up when i click on stove, oven and grill. I've tried visiting the rental lot but it still does not come up. I'm not sure what I am supposed to replace?
What do you expect to see? A way for me to replace the stove, oven, and or grill
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? No
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? No, it has been happening since I got the for rent expansion.

explosive malfunction doesn't give me any options to do anything. Goes away when I change to a different rental unit. Then comes back when I'm in the rental unit it started on.

    @troublecathead Same problem for me. A notice of a non-existent "explosion". The stove is in complete working order. However, it can be fixed with testingcheats… Shift-click and select "break object", then repair it as normal.

    just coming in to say I've just experienced this issue myself. I'm on a regular residential lot with the maintenance troubles lot challenge enabled.

    I found out the issue is because the randomWeightedLoot_muEvent_EventPicker file includes every single event and enables all those events (including the commonarea ones) on lots with the maintenance troubles traits. So to fix this, maxis needs to add some kind of tests to disable every CommonArea drama node from firing on normal residential home lots or just add this pretest on the dramanodes 358970, 359118, 359117 to ensure they don't happen on lots with the lot trait (since rentals don't use that lot challenge anyways)

    Just wanted to add this has happened to me too.  I've started a brand new save, no mods or CC installed, and the Sim is in a residential rental.  I recently bought him a new stove, deleting the one that came with the original lot, and the following sim day the Explosive Malfunction event started saying the stove, grill or oven needed repairing or replacing.  There were no other ovens, stoves, or grills on the lot or shared space and the new stove was in perfect order and couldn't be repaired.  I also couldn't replace it as the option for Build/Buy was greyed out.

    I can share the save file with the event in progress if that would help.
