I have an issue with my game where items and/or sims spontaneously catch on fire- usually at night or while sleeping. This has happened on a rental lot as well as a non-rental lot owned by a landlord. I have had mods off for the time when these happen, and none of the mods I played with months ago changed fire.
Within two in-game weeks the following items have caught on fire:
Occupied baby basinet
Vacant baby basinet x2
Occupied Bed
Vacant Bed
Toddler
Framed Baby Footprints
Mushroom Patch
Vendors Table
The lot traits are homely, great soil, wild foxes, off-the-grid, and simple living.
I did have the cursed book pop up in the rental lot twice, but found it and mailed it off both times. After the books and the first two fires, I turned off the For Rent Tenant events - however I have received a Pet Drive Notification after that. I have confirmed they are still turned off.
It'd honestly starting to make the game unplayable. How do I stop it? Must I sacrifice the toddler to appease the EA Devs and stop the curse?
I have also had this issue! First it was the upstairs computer (three times), then I deleted it and now a random chair started burning.
My theory has been that the nearby radiators are the cause, but it looks like you don't have that?
- 2 years ago@TheMaggy96 yup, no radiators here. I do have a wall-candle. But considering the baby caught on fire in the middle of the room, and I've subsequently had a stairwell catch on fire in a hallway without candle (I forgot to light the hallway... whoops) I don't think I can blame them.
