Does anyone else have the issue where there are fires everyday in game? A fire will randomly start without any type of trigger from use in game. The fire will start on random objects such as a the shower, table, bed etc. I was told to fix it that I should cure the "fear of fire" for all sims in the household. I have done that and nothing has changed. I have restarted the game several times. I am unsure how to fix this and find it very annoying.

This seems to be a fairly common issue for people who have For Rent, caused by a Cursed Book. I don't have For Rent, so I don't know much about it, but there is at least one bug report and perhaps something in that thread will help you.
Objects randomly catch on fire after solved cursed book event

Is your lot a residential rental? I found this was constantly happening for me when living in a rental home like 5 times when playing for 2/3 hours, however I moved my sims out into a normal lot home and played for 2 hours and has not yet happened to me again.
I do no have mods or cc either, I think it is a bug and something to do with rental lots.

Everyone having the random fires probably had a cursed book event bug out. I had this and FIXED IT in my game.
My post has a LOT of details, but the SUMMARY of how to fix it using MCCC is at the end.
Anyone should be able to replicate what I did following my steps. There are 2 pics for even more clarity attached at the bottom of my post. Good luck, simmers!

I'm having this issue, and it randomly started 2 weeks ago. I have not had the cursed book event happen before the fires start either (as in i was never called to take care of a cursed book). It's usually a random object that catches fire. I had the book event happen once, but idk if the fires started happening before or after the event. Right before I commented here, I had a candle light catch fire that has never ever caught fire in my household before, but it's not just lights. The time before that, it was a picture on the wall, and before that it was some clutter sitting around. There was also the little floor star decor from the backyard kit (I think) that caught fire as well. It's happening on my home lot, apartment rentals, and other home lots (like my Sim's parent's home). My household is stressed and I'm tired of having to calm them down. I do play with mods, but haven't removed them. Since the last update, I played with my mods and the fires weren't happening with them. They are all up to date/cleared by the creator as well.
