Product: The Sims 4 Platform:Xbox Series X Which language are you playing the game in? English How often does the bug occur? Occasionally (10% - 49%) What is your current game version number? ...
First: Playing my regular save. Added a 4 unit RR that I had tested, played and saved back to my Library in a vanilla game. Had a household purchase the RR and live in as the Landlord. Moved 2 of my households into 2 separate units. Played with them all. Everything went fine. No problems with ownership or duplicate units. I play rotationally, so I went on to other households. Checked the status of the RR occasionally. Still fine.
Next: I added a second 3 unit RR - also tested, played and saved. Checked the status of my first RR. All was fine. Played with other households. Then I had one of my Sims buy the new RR with the intention of being an off sight Landlord. As soon as my Sim returned home from purchasing the RR I got the "duplicate units" bug. Checked with my first Landlord. He had the "no owned properties." bug.
Shared my Saves with Sims Direct.
Now: I started a new save. Added the second 3 unit RR. Played with it. All fine. Doesn't seem to be that lot. Added my Mods. Still fine. Added a second 4 unit RR I built myself from my original test of FR. Played around. All fine. Added the first 4 unit RR to this save. Played. All fine. Not that lot. Well, huh. Sold the 3 unit RR. Had a different Sim buy it to manage but not live on site. So far, all's fine. So... ??
Maybe, I could keep adding RR lots until it breaks, but... ??
I have copies of my copies and backups of my backups, so I'm not too worried about messing up my regular game. So, my next plan is to go back to a point, in my regular game, before I added the first 4 unit RR and try to play the same scenario. And see what happens.
Update: I did load up my game from back up to just before I added RR #1. Added the same lot to my game (play tested and saved to my Library) and played through the same scenario. No problems.
Played through my household rotation. Added RR #2 (also played tested and saved to my Library). Went back to RR#1 to check it was still ok. No problems.
Switched to the household that had originally bought RR #2 and broke my game. They owned a retail lot. This time I had them sell it before purchasing RR #2. Purchased the RR lot. They spent the day doing upgrades in the units. --- As an aside the stairs didn't work and had to be replace. They shared a wall with the kitchen cabinets the uppers of which disappeared when I place the lot. I did not have MOO on when I placed the lot or when I replaced the cabinets, but it was obviously built with MOO enabled. I deleted and replaced the stairs which deleted the cabinets, again. Ok. --- I sent them home, which is where the trouble started in my last play through. No problems.
Continued to play with this household for 2 sim weeks. Rented out one unit. Visited repeatedly. No problems. So... Inconclusive.
I don't know if selling the retail lot had any effect. I "saved as" just before I sold the retail lot and purchased the RR lot, so I might played that through when I have the time.
"Save as" is your friend.
