@crinrict Hello, I tried to see if I could replicate what they are experiencing because I also have a chip... here is my specs if that will help.
But I could not in any way get my game to crash using any of the cabinets.
The odd part in which I will submit a report, is like others are saying here... I too thought initially I was using -dx11, but somehow the game keeps reverting back to the dx9. I noticed this has been happening more than once. And as you can see my computer can handle the -dx11.
So when I first started testing the cabinets.. it was actually with dx9 with no issues, with dx11... all is working well there too.
I also run a vanilla game with no Mods or Custom Content. All drivers are updated.

- wasikm0075 months agoSeasoned Veteran@crinrict Thank you for letting me know. I was told I had a good gaming PC. and was really confident about my PC, until today. When I looked at the specs I gave, I saw "Chip". I know it's been a while... but back before HD came in, I always seemed to remember that Chip was not actually a solid graphics card. But today, it seems the terminology is all changed.
If I am wrong, please correct me, as I would like to learn.- crinrict5 months agoHero+@wasikm007 Chip usually refers to onboard graphics while a graphics card is something separate. You don't have a chip (at least there's none shown in your DxDiag). It is possible that your processor also has a chip (I'm not that good at hardware related stuff) but it's not obviously listed.
If you want to be sure if Sims uses the card, open config.log with a text editor and check

I remember in the Sims 2 days many were trying to play the more demanding EPs with an onboard chip Vs a graphics card and was wondering why they were having issues. So, when I saw chip where it reads
"Card name: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660
Manufacturer: NVIDIA
Chip type: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660"... I was really shocked. LOL. I am not used to seeing "Chip" by a graphics card.
