What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All EPs, GPs and SPs except for Star Wars, My Wedding Stories, Werewolves and Nifty Knitting. No kits except for Desert Luxe.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Open any in game menu.
What happens when the bug occurs? The game pulls up the menu but lags to the point of basically freezing. The extreme lag persists even after closing the menu.
What do you expect to see? A functioning menu with no lag, at least not to this extent.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? No
This bug appeared suddenly yesterday, December 3. I was playing my usual save without any new mods or CC. It did start happening after I switched the allow jealousy switch off in MC Command Center, but weirdly continued even without mods. I installed Horse Ranch on November 26, but the game had functioned fine with it. I removed all mods and CC and removed the sims 4 folder in order to let the game generate a new one but the issue still persists. I tried repairing the game from the EA app but that also didn't help. The lag freezes everything visually, but I've deduced the game to still be running since I get glimpses of time progression when I alt+TAB out and back in to it.
UPDATE: I've done more investigating and it seems to be a problem with my graphics card and its outdated display drivers. Not a sims exclusive problem. For anyone with similar problems check in with your display drivers!
