I am currently doing the scenario 'Aliens stole my parents' and one of the goals is to complete an aspiration with a child sim. Well I have done that so why will it not complete. I am now having to work through another one which is very annoying.
I have no mods

I think you need to use one of the base game Child Aspirations, such as Artistic Prodigy. Sounds like you already figured that out, though.
