Yup, I'll chime in.

On The Sims Forums, I have made a discussion about self-discovery (by looking into tuning files) and I'm keeping it up to date as best as I could.

And while all the traits from the previous DLC are included, Horse Ranch traits aren't. So yes, your sims can't have a self-discovery moment for Horse Lover and Rancher traits.
