Hadn't played the detective career in a while, but just issued my first APB today and when I arrived at the location there was NO ONE there, let alone anyone who fit the APB description. I returned to the station and re-issued several times, was sent to a different location each time, always completely deserted. If I hung around the lot for a while, eventually maybe a mail carrier or another cop would show up patrolling, but that's it. This thread says this bug was fixed, maybe this is a different bug, but I didn't want to make a whole new report if others had already reported it.
I'm having the same exact issue as the OP here that posted over a year ago. It's no fun when the only person on the lot is the criminal. There's no deducing. 😕
FYI, I am having the same issue as fanphoria. I already clicked Me Too, but wanted to clarify that in my case the suspect never shows. The lot is either completely abandoned or there are one or two sims there who do not fit the suspect description.
I've been having this issue too. For his first few arrests there were others around, and my detective actually had to figure it out (although a couple of times he knew all the other Sims on the lot already, so it was easy to pick out the only one who wasn't his friend), but after a while (I didn't really pay attention to what might have changed) it started being only the suspect on the lot.
I've noticed that with Seasons, they'll sometimes be in their seasonal clothing, which doesn't match the clues. If everything else fits (and they're the only one there anyway), I arrest them, and when they get back to the station, they're in their everyday clothing, which fits the clues.
