[OPEN] [HR] Horses will not autonomously enter or sleep in stalls

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.99.264.1030
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All Expansions. All Game Packs except: Batu and Wedding stories. All Stuff Packs, except: Moschino, fitness, bowling night, backyard and movie hangout. Owned and installed Kits: Book Nook, Grunge Revival, Greenhouse, Bathroom Clutter, Simtimates, Everyday Clutter, Pastel Pop, Desert Luxe, First Fits, Blooming Rooms, Modern Menswear, and Country Kitchen.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Have a horse outside the horse ranch world, make a stall for them of an appropriate size, they won't go in autonomously, can be called in, but will refuse to sleep. They will leave after a time. If this doesn't happen immediately, play a few days to a week and it will be omnipresent and permanent.
What happens when the bug occurs? Horses wont autonomously go into stall, but can be called in. They will not sleep in the stall no matter what.
What do you expect to see? The horses sleeping in the stall, autonomously going into the stall, etc.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Yes
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. Horse Ranch, since its a horse issue

I have a horse and a foal who refuse to autonomously enter a stall, even when they're comically large. They can be called in, but will simply stand there for about one game hour before leaving - usually to sleep outside. I have also not seen them enter the building autonomously. I have my front door of an entirely different building set to disallow horses in (and have tested it allowing with no change), but that shouldn't be affecting this entirely separate building. I changed my build to have the walls be the 2nd tier high to use the door that allows a horse and rider to enter and they still refuse to autonomously enter. I cannot change anything regarding building restrictions to the barn door as its considered an archway, so I have no idea if its an issue. I placed a new door down and the door had no restrictions so I assume the building doesn't.

The stalls I'm using are now 9x7 since making stalls larger was the recommended fix in another post, previously they were 5x6, I can confidently say this is not a stall size issue. I have repaired my game twice now, and in a different game this wasn't an issue (5x6 worked perfectly fine). I'm also not playing in the new world, whereas the previous game I was; I'm playing on Country Living's 2 Olde Mill Lane (the 50x40 lot).

All CC is purely CAS and there was no change when disabling it, except for a headache as I needed to remake all my characters with the missing CC.

Update: a new game didn't have this issue at first but after a few days to a week I noticed my horse wasn't using the stall again (even in the expansion world), so its not an immediate bug and isnt world related.

@JuniperWhimsy Thanks for being more on top of this than I was - I kind of fell off of this for a few days. Here's to hoping it gets fixed! <3

I have this too. I try locking the horses in the barn at night but they're miserable.  Maybe take a nod from LittleMissSam's mod and give us the ability to stay in bed until the morning.  For every Sim.  I think that would solve a lot of our issues and also reduce lag since the Sims are sleeping all night.

I've had this issue with my adult horses, very frustrating. However, now my mare and stallion have bred a pretty little foal, who DOES go into her stall to sleep!. She's only two days old so far, so I have no idea if she will continue after becoming an adult. I'll update when I do find out.

Question: what traits do the horses involved have? I have noticed any of my horses with "free spirit" will nearly always sleep outside, because they prefer it, but other horses will generally sleep in their beds.

Though I've also noticed on larger lots that once the horses wander too far from the barn they tend to forget it's there until I call or ride them back near it again.

Ah! I was noticing this bug myself, but if what you say then maybe it's not actually a bug, as my horse DOES have free spirit.  Will she use the stall during thunderstorms and such though, assuming the bug is fixed?

Unfortunately I cannot test what happens during thunderstorms. I do not own Seasons. Perhaps someone else can weigh in.
