[OPEN] [JTB] Droid loops on Distraction Procedure

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.83.24.1030
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All expansions, game packs, and stuff packs
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Have a Sim travel to Batuu, place a droid in the world, click on the droid and select "engage follow procedure," then click anywhere and select "engage distraction procedure," then click on the droid again and select "engage follow procedure."
What happens when the bug occurs? Once the droid has engaged in distraction procedure (i.e. sparking animation), it does not stop. I can ask it to follow, deactivate it, put it in the Sim's inventory and place it back in the world, but it will still have the sparking animation. The only thing I have found to make it stop is to travel to a different neighborhood.
What do you expect to see? I expect to see an option to stop the distraction procedure or for other actions to stop it. I don't expect it to be ongoing with no way of stopping it.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Yes
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

    I found a workaround:

After the LE, go into CAS from the Sim Info panel Likes and Dislikes pane. Don't make any changes, just check out so the lot will reload. The droid will be responsive again.

  • So, I can verify that this is still happening and it also seems to happen with the "Engage wait protocol" command. It's just that this loop on the distraction procedure is much easier to actually notice.

It looks like the routing command just loops and loops. I'm able to do the "swipe while distracted" action pretty much indefinitely, because sims in the area keep getting distracted over and over.

Edit: after playing around with this, it looks like the game doesn't seem to realize that the droid has already arrived at the locations its supposed to be at, and any time you move the droid to a new location (even deactivating it and picking it up) it'll try moving back to where it was instructed to go. This happens with both the "Distract here" and "Wait here" commands.

When I test with mods active, MCCC provides this in the last exception error summary:

    • Last Module Called: __init__.py
    • Last Function Called: __getattr__
    • Error message: [tastle] Exception thrown while processing navmesh update callbacks. Eating this exception to prevent the alarm from self-destructing. (AttributeError: 'object_terrain' object has no attribute 'is_on_location_changed_callback_registered'), CategoryID: __init__:202
    • Last Module Called: __init__.py
    • Last Function Called: __getattr__
    • Error message: Exception in Sim Timeline: Exception running Element (AttributeError: 'object_terrain' object has no attribute 'is_on_location_changed_callback_registered'), CategoryID: __init__:202
  • @aMooNsterX I had this problem too. I only have MCCC installed. I don't know how to show the right last exception, or where to put it. But, yeah, I get this too.
