[OPEN] NPC dates always end badly

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All expansions and packs except laundry day.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Let an NPC invite your sim out on a date, accept it and go to the location. No matter what you do, the date ends badly.
What happens when the bug occurs? Whenever my sim gets invited out on a date by an NPC.It only happens with dates, regular outings and parties and dance clubs work.
What do you expect to see? Depending on if the sims did anything, the date should go smoothly.I have my sims eat, drink, socialize and it says "Looks like your having a good time" But when the date ends they say "Guess this is goodbye forever"
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

So Basically, it only happens when my sim is invited OUT ON A DATE by an NPC.

They will go to the location, however unlike play intiated dates, this one doesn't have goals, so I assume I could do wahtever, I have them eat, drink, dance, sing karaoke, flirt, socialize, and it always ends with a "I guess this is goodbye forever, don't call me again"

Regular outings, invites to the festivals and dance parties all work fine.Player intiated parties work fine as well.

I don't have mods in this game, this is on a new laptop, mod free.

  • Hi @graceymanors

I don't think this is a bug really. There's an older thread on this around somewhere but they're just really hard to do but it is possible. You do need to do a lot of romantic interactions and almost nothing else.

Might need tuning but that would be feedback.

  • It may look like there's no goals, but actually there are. I think it's intentionally like that because you've got to guess what they like as goals rather than you being in control of the date. If you do at least 10 social options and things you'd usually do on a date like sitting together and chatting, and some flirting then you can get a good result.

You can tell if things are going well because they will pop up notifications saying they are having a good time and stuff like "It's so nice to be with someone I can talk to for hours" or "It looks like you're having a good time!".

I saw the older thread, I didn't want to bump it though, since it was from a while ago, wasn't sure if it was an actual bug or how the game was designed.Just quite annoying tbh lol.

I get the notification "It looks like you're having a good time" But it still ends badly.

I think that's only the first stage one though, you need to get up to "It's so nice to be able to talk to someone for hours" or something like that.

Try again and try only doing romantic interactions to see if it also fails.

the positive notifications also happen when doing random stuff. i've had couples stood outside a venue, just chatting, and the "i'm having a great time/could talk to you for hours" messages showed after maybe two jokes. 😉
